Kamala Harris

 Kamala Devi Harris is an American politician. Born on October 20, 1964, she is the 49th Vice-President of the United States. She is the first vice president to be female and the most powerful female politician in U.S. history, as also the first African American and first Asian American vice president. Harris is a member of the Democratic Party and was previously the attorney general of California between 2011 and 2017. In addition, she served as an United States senator representing California between 2017-2021. Born in Oakland, California, Harris graduated from Howard University and the University of California, Hastings College of the Law. After establishing her career as an Alameda County District Attorney, Harris was recruited to San Francisco District Attorney's Office. Then she was appointed the City Attorney of San Francisco. She was elected San Francisco district attorney in 2003. She was elected Attorney General of California in 2010 and re-elected in 2014. Harris was the junior United States senator from California from 2017 to 2021. Harris beat Loretta Santiago in the 2016 Senate election, becoming the 2nd African American woman to serve in Congress , and the only South Asian American American to do so in the United States Senate. She was a senator who worked for healthcare and federal de-scheduling cannabis. A pathway towards citizenship for migrants who aren't legal. The DREAM Act bans assault weapons and progressive tax reform. She was praised nationally for her pointed questions of Trump administration officials in Senate hearings, including Trump's second Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, who was accused of assault on a woman.
