Kyra Minturn
Kyra Minturn, born August 19, 1965, is an American actress. She also works as an actor and producer. Her most prominent part is as Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson, on TNT's crime series The Closer. Sedgwick was awarded two Emmy Awards in 2010 and 2007 for her portrayal Johnson. The show ended after the seventh season. Sedgwick's performance as Madeline Wuntch in the sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine is also notable. Sedgwick was nominated for the Golden Globe for her role in Something to Talk About (1995). Sedgwick's film appearances include Oliver Stone's Born on the Fourth of July (1989) as well as Cameron Crowe's Solos (1992), Heart and Souls (93), Phenomenon (2000) as well as What's Cooking (2000) and Secondhand Lions (2003). She also starred in The Game Plan (2007) and The Possession (2012). Sedgwick is the daughter of Patricia Rosenwald, an educator therapy for families, a venture capitalist and Henry Dwight Sedgwick VII Speech Therapist. Her mother was Jewish. Her father was an Episcopalian, of English descent. Sedgwick is a self-described Jewish, and she has said that she participates at Passover seders.
